Bel Canto - Live in Concert

Bel Canto in Concert at Ballintubber Abbey

Join us for a very special evening of music in the magnificent surroundings of Ballintubber Abbey, as The Bel Canto Ladies bring their stunning voices and harmonies to this historic setting.

Featuring the wonderful singing talents of Galway sopranos Delia Boyce, Hildegarde Naughton and Sandra Schalks, with Musical Director Mairéad Berrill, Bel Canto’s voices blend beautifully together as they perform trios, duets, timeless classics, folk and popular songs, and much-loved arias in their own unique style.

Bel Canto have recently performed for members of the EU Alliance in Galway, at the Something in the Water Arts Festival in Headford, and for European Education Ministers at Dublin Castle.

They will be joined on the night by Sing On, a vibrant community choir based in Headford and part of Headford Music Works. Sing On share a love of music and regularly use their performances to support and fundraise for charities and community organisations.

The evening will also feature a String Ensemble, with members of Headford Music Works, adding another wonderful musical dimension to the programme.

Also performing will be the Ballintubber Abbey Choir, whose music has long been part of the worship, celebrations and special occasions of the Abbey, bringing a particularly special local connection to the evening.

With its ancient stone walls and remarkable natural acoustics, the 810-year-old Ballintubber Abbey provides a truly atmospheric setting for an evening of beautiful voices, harmonies, strings and choral music.
